AUSTIN, Texas – Texas Secretary of State Hope Andrade is reminding Texans Tuesday, November 6 is Election Day. Polls statewide will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
“I want to thank the millions of Texans who took advantage of Early Voting to cast their ballots in this important election and remind those who did not that Election Day is Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 6,” said Secretary Andrade. “Voting is your chance to make your mark on Texas by helping choose the leaders who will create the laws and policies that govern our communities, our state and our nation in the months and years to come.”
Additionally, Photo identification is not required on Election Day. To cast a ballot on Election Day, voters should present their voter registration card or one of the following approved IDs:
- A driver's license or personal identification card issued to you by the Texas Department of Public Safety or a similar document issued to you by an agency of another state, even if the license or card has expired;
- A form of identification that contains your photograph and establishes your identity;
- A birth certificate or other document confirming birth that is admissible in a court of law and establishes the person’s identity;
- Your United States citizenship papers;
- Your United States passport;
- Official mail addressed to you by a governmental entity; or
- A copy of a current utility bill, bank statement, government check, paycheck, or other government document that shows your name and address.
Also, voters should verify their polling place to ensure it has not changed as a result of the redistricting process. Voters can verify their polling place by contacting their local county elections office, or using the “Find My Polling Place” feature at www.VoteTexas.gov. Also available on the VoteTexas.gov website is the “Am I Registered?” feature voters may use to check their voter registration status.
