WACO – Texas Secretary of State Hope Andrade spoke at the grand opening of the ITT Technical Institute in Waco yesterday.
Secretary Andrade said that while ITT Tech’s students can be preparing for a new career, developing skills to help them with a career change, or even achieving a certificate in their current field, all of the students are choosing education.
“By choosing education, ITT Tech’s students are choosing a secure future for themselves, their family, their community and their state,” Andrade said.
The Secretary said the school’s opening will help continue the Texas tradition of producing highly-skilled workers and a prepared workforce, thereby building future business and industry in the state.
Secretary Andrade applauded leaders in the Waco community for fostering continuing education in their region.
“ITT Tech’s students will play a most important role in making Texas the best state with a competitive edge,” she said. “A state where employers are arriving to create new jobs and opportunities.”
After the ceremony, Secretary Andrade participated in a ribbon cutting with Waco Mayor Jim Bush and dignitaries from the Waco Chamber of Commerce, followed by a tour of the school.
