Secretary Nelson Names Adkins to Serve as Elections Director

AUSTIN — Today, Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson officially named Christina Adkins as director of the agency’s elections division.

“Director Adkins has the experience and reputation to lead the elections division as we prepare for a busy 2024 election cycle” said Nelson. “Her leadership and vision have already strengthened the work of our agency to effect changes and reorganize operations within the division.”

Adkins has served as acting elections director since early March. Previously, she was the legal director for the elections division and has worked at the agency since 2012.

She is a recognized leader in the election community for her legal and technological expertise in certifying voting systems and ensuring county officials are trained to comply with the Texas Election Code.
