Texas State Board of Examiners of Perfusionists

Rule Transfer

Through the enactment of Senate Bill 403, 79th Legislature, 2005, the Governor and the legislature have abolished the Texas State Board of Examiners of Perfusionists (board). The board, which was administratively attached to the Department of State Health Services (DSHS), will be replaced by a DSHS advisory committee. The statutory mandates and activities relating to the regulation of perfusionists will continue to be housed at the Department of State Health Services. Administrative rulemaking authority relating to the licensure and regulation of perfusionists is transferred to the Executive Commissioner, Texas Health and Human Services Commission.

The legacy board's rules regulating perfusionists are currently located under Title 22, Part 33, Chapter 761, of the Texas Administrative Code. These rules will be transferred and reorganized under Title 25, Part 1, Chapter 140, of the Texas Administrative Code.

The transfer is effective September 1, 2005.
