Texas State Board of Public Accountancy
Rule Review Plan

The Texas State Board of Public Accountancy plans to conduct a review of its rules pursuant to §2001.039 of the Texas Government Code according to the following schedule:

September 2007: Begin review of Chapter 501 (Rules of Professional Conduct) and Chapter 523 (Continuing Professional Education).

November 2007: Begin review of Chapter 515 (Licenses), Chapter 517 (Temporary Practice in Texas), and Chapter 521 (Fee Schedule).

January 2008: Begin review of Chapter 511 (Certification as a CPA), Chapter 518 (Unauthorized Practice of Public Accountancy), and Chapter 525 (Criminal Background Investigations).

March 2008: Begin review of Chapter 512 (Certification by Reciprocity) and Chapter 513 (Registration).

May 2008: Begin review of Chapter 507 (Employees of the Board), Chapter 509 (Rulemaking Procedures), and Chapter 519 (Practice and Procedure).

July 2008: Begin review of Chapter 505 (The Board), Chapter 526 (Board Opinions), and Chapter 527 (Peer Review).
