Texas Parks and Wildlife Department

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department submits the following plan to the Texas Register, Governor, and Legislative Budget Board for review of its rules in accordance with House Bill 1, 75th Legislature, Regular Session, 1997, Article IX, Sec. 167.

At the direction of the Parks and Wildlife Commission, the Department undertook a complete review and "sunset" of all regulations promulgated by the Commission. This process was completed in January, 1997. In that regard, the Department will complete review of each chapter of the Title 31, Part II within four years of completion of the Department's previous review of that chapter. Due to the nature of the TPWD regulatory process, many sections are reviewed annually.

The Department will conduct a review of its rules in Title 31, Natural Resources and Conservation, in following order by chapters. However the commission may review a chapter as part of its routine rulemaking before its scheduled review date if it is necessary to propose amendments to a chapter. The timeline for review of each chapter is as follows:

Chapter 51: Executive December 2000 Chapter 52: Wildlife and Fisheries December 1999 Chapter 53: Finance June 2000 Chapter 55: Law Enforcement September 2000 Chapter 57: Fisheries December 2000 Chapter 58: Oysters and Shrimp September 2000 Chapter 59: Parks December 2000 Chapter 61: Design and Construction December 2000 Chapter 65: Wildlife September 2000 Chapter 69: Resource Protection December 2000
