RE: Implementation of Revised Absentee Ballot by Mail (ABBM) Form

Based on changes recommended by the Election Forms Focus Group comprised of county election officials, we have revised the official application for absentee ballot by mail form. The form has been designed to be more user friendly and we hope that it will be easier for your staff to process them as well. The new form does not incorporate any new laws or procedures so if you have a large supply of the older form, you may exhaust your current stock.

The new form is designed as a self-mailer for the voter, but when you mail out the blank form, you will need to mail it in a number #14 size envelope from office supply stores or from your local printer.

The new form includes fold lines and an adhesive seal with perforated tabs which will protect the voter’s personal information once it has been filled out and folded in half. Voters will return the new form to counties as a bi-folded mailer. Upon receipt, election officials will have to break the perforated tabs to view voter information. Once the perforations are torn, the new ABBM forms will fit an 8 ½ x 11 inch personal scanner.

We have enclosed a small supply of new forms, and the new form has been sent to all certified printers. If you need to order a large volume of forms, please contact your printer as usual. If you wish to obtain a camera ready copy of the form, please contact our office.
